Introduction

Good morning! I was having a conversation with a friend about my passions and realized that my two most favorite things to talk about(and being a Gemini, there are a lot) are saving the planet and being on a spiritual path. So, I figured I would combine the two. To me they go hand in hand. I can't imagine having the spiritual beliefs I do and not caring about the actual planet that keeps me from floating off into space. To me the planet is my friend with a soul very similar to that of my human friends and every creature that breaths in life. So, I treat it like I treat my friends, with love and respect.

It may sound silly, but I talk to the birds, insects, trees, animals and flowers and listen for their response. If I believe that God(Spirit, Divine, etc...) created the universe, and I do, then I must believe that we are all similar. That we all deserve the same amount of respect. I believe in a compassionate Creator who despite our faults loves us unconditionally and I practice that with the planet. Now I didn't always.

I grew up thinking that the planet and the animals exist only for humans to do with as they please. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I realized there is a lot more going on in the world then what I had been taught. With a mind that is always craving more information, I searched for answers to what life is really supposed to be about. I found a lot of information. Some useful, some just nonsensical.

My "adult" beliefs have been composed of the information that made me feel inspired and just felt right when I absorbed it. Some people may not agree with me or may show me a twist(give me something to ponder), but the core is unshakable. The core to my beliefs is that we have been placed on this planet to learn lessons of compassion, love, patience and that we are all made up of the same energetic fabric of the Divine source(whatever you may call it).

If we are all made from that fabric then who am I to decide who is more important. We are all equal, animate & inanimate(not that I see the planet as inanimate). So, we need to treat the planet the same way we treat our friends, family and ourselves.

Someone once asked me if sending loving energy to the planet was enough. Of course I said it wasn't and after I thought about it some more I realized it similar to any abusive relationship. You wouldn't tell the abuser that it was okay to keep up the abuse as long as they send loving energy to their victim. Would you?

Anyway, that's enough for today. More later!

Tip: Turn off the water when you are brushing your teeth.
